What it covers
Statistics opens Paper 2 with data handling. For one set of data you work with the mean, the median and quartiles shown on a box plot, ogives, variance and standard deviation, and describe how the data is spread or skewed. For two variables you draw a scatter plot, let your calculator produce the line of best fit (by least squares) and the value of r, which measures how strong the link is, and judge how much you can trust a prediction read from the line.
